I was born in South Africa in 1974. My first pottery creation was a little elephant that I made in art lessons at the age of 10. Ever since then I was hooked.
My work is inspired by nature and ancient ceramics, whether ceremonial, functional or decorative. I enjoy the contrast between straight lines and organic forms, smooth areas and textured surfaces.
I use Earthenware clay and my techniques include sculpting, hand building or throwing on the potter's wheel.
I've always been drawn to classic shapes of vases and pots and my thrown vessels are finished to a high standard.
I teach pottery six days a week from my studio in Great Shefford, Berkshire.
The finished vessel from our ceramic studio is now ready for drying after being crafted in our potter's wheel classes. This is a perfect example of what you can create in our pottery classes for beginners, especially during our pottery lessons in Berkshire or pottery workshop in clay.
